Core Strengths Inventory (CSI)
The Core Strengths Inventory (CSI) is a self-assessment tool that offers valuable insight into a person’s ability to thrive in everyday living using five key behavioral domains.

The Five Key Behavioral Domains
  1. Perseverance – Steady persistence in a course of action in spite of difficulties, obstacles or discouragement.
  2. Psychological Insight – An understanding of the motivational forces behind one’s actions, thoughts or behavior. 
  3. Intellect – The power or faculty of the mind by which one knows or understands one’s world. 
  4. Heart Centered – An attitude or behavior directed to the self or others that addresses feelings, emotions or support. Examples might be service, sympathy, kindness, compassion, gratitude, appreciation, etc.
  5. Creativity – The ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships to create meaningful and useful new ideas, forms, methods & interpretations.
When the results of the assessment are used in conjunction with coaching, it allows clients to use their innate strengths to address personal challenges and identify new areas of growth. This “asset-based” approach has been proven to lead to behavioral growth.

Developed by David Bauer, President of The Change Circle, Inc., The CSI’s origins come from Dave’s post-Masters work at the International Center for Studies in Creativity at SUNY-Buffalo State.
